Company History
Harbour Food Service Equipment, founded in 1929, is one of New England’s oldest food service equipment and supply distributors. Family owned and in it’s 3rd generation, the company has been operating out of their Boston location, in the historic North End, for over 75 years. In the year 2000, a new chapter began with the opening of a new show room and expanded warehouse facility.
The original company began as a woodworking shop manufacturing wooden booths, bars, tables and counters, for the early taverns and restaurants in the Boston area. Over the years, china, glass, and food service equipment was added.
In the 1960’s the focus shifted from woodworking to equipment and supplies. Today, Harbour’s customer base consists of independent restaurants, healthcare facilities, schools, universities, and local chains.
